Thoracic Frequently Asked Questions

All patients interviewed and subsequently scheduled for elective thoracic surgery are encouraged to understand thoroughly the nature of their problematic condition and the surgery recommended. Questions are welcomed and will be answered by the surgeon, according to specific patient circumstances and disease process. While it is anticipated there will always be some questions only your surgeon can answer to your satisfaction, we offer the following to each and every patient:

  • Our published results, as may be pertinent to your diagnosis and recommended treatment.
  • Where we may not have published our experience pertinent to your diagnosis, we do offer:
    1. One or more references (including some of the classics) from the medical/surgical literature;
    2. A compendium of our surgeons' results.
  • Specific guidelines to help you in your preoperative preparation for and postoperative recovery from surgery.
